Flashback Friday — Triple Trouble

As is so very often the case, I’m a day late and probably several dollars short. I never let that stop me, though.

Yesterday was National Sibling Day and lots of folks posted family photos on their Facebook and Instagram feeds.

Here’s hoping you have interest in one more sets of siblings.

Here is Basil with his sister, Marianne; and brother, Dean. Basil thinks it was taken in 1965 (I wasn’t born yet!).

And here are the three of them more recently, at Catherine’s christening party in 1996.

Fun fact: We had the party in what was then Viscardi’s Colonial Inn in Old Greenwich, at the time a community treasure owned by a relative of Basil’s who has since died.

We used to go there a lot when Catherine was little. The staff fussed over her, getting a kick out of how she would finish a plate of escarole or eat Basil’s Penne a la Vodka and leave the kids’ spaghetti plate for him. (I’m not sure I could get her to even look at escarole today.)

The restaurant has since changed hands and is now the Beach House, offering a more modern menu and music several nights a week, including performances by a band that a father of one of Catherine’s friends plays in. Since August, Catherine has worked there three nights a weeks hostessing.

Circle of life, I guess.
