Given all the hoopla over the arrival this week of little Prince George, how could my Flashback be anything but a baby picture of Catherine?

Catherine and Basil, just home on April 3, 1996. Note that he got dressed up for the occasion (and that he has no gray hair!) Note, too, that those little feeties don’t quite fill out the sleeper.
She arrived four days ahead of schedule in April 17 years ago, the only time she’s been early for anything.
No throngs of reporters waited outside Greenwich Hospital while we struggled with the car seat clasps, then thoughtlessly slammed the car door, causing her to startle and practically hit the roof of the car.
No paparazzi followed us home (good thing, too, since we drove about 15 mph, one eye glued to the back seat) or waited outside the carport of our then apartment while we took a painstaking 20 minutes to get her out of the car.
The guard didn’t change; cannons weren’t sounded.
The only public acknowledgement of her arrival was a single-line birth announcement in the Greenwich Time.
She’s still our princess, though!
Happy Friday! My Friday Flash Blog linky party is live @ The Jenny Evolution – a flash mob of blogs where you share your favorite posts of the week. Hope to see you there — you may just get highlighted next week!

I’ll be there…
What a lovely picture. She was and is a true beauty. What a wonderful flashback!
Thank you!
She was so tiny and cute! Both of my boys were huge, my oldest was 9 lbs and my youngest was almost 8 lbs three weeks early 🙂
omg! Yikes! She was 6 lbs., 3 oz., and remains quite petite!
