For a brief time today, I was sure I could do almost anything. Tim Roberts has that effect on a girl.
He’s an amazing choreographer and dance teacher, and we were lucky to have him visit us at Jazzercise of Southwestern Connecticut for a hip-hop class that we turned into a holiday celebration.
In just an hour, he had 20+ middle-aged women moving with more than a bit of attitude – we were popping and showing off our swagga.
He even got us to perfect the body roll — no small feat.
It was a terrifically fun way to challenge our bodies and our perceptions.
You see, Tim’s holiday gifts didn’t stop with the dance lessons.
He was full of praise, offered criticism tinged with humor, reminded us that our most valuable assets are our brains, and insisted we were beautiful.
As you can see from the photos, he isn’t a bad looker, either.
Before his class, we got the energy pumping with a little team-taught, holiday-themed Jazzercise class.
Yes, that’s Peg, Kristen and me wearing holiday headgear and blinking Rudolph noses. I fell off the “embarrassing” wagon, but I was having too much fun to care.
Can’t deny that I’m feeling my age, though. If I sit here typing much longer, I’ll be stuck in this position til morning!
