Lots of things are missing this holiday season. As we have been since August, when we left Catherine and the carload of stuff at the dorm at Hofstra, Basil and I remain a bit unmoored.
Little by little we’re finding our way to a new normal, but one of the holes in our holiday prep this year was missing a chance to hear Catherine and her classmates sing in a holiday concert.
It was strange to miss last week’s effort by the Greenwich (CT) High School choral groups. Catherine had plans to take the train home and sing in the finale with other alums, but the timing didn’t work.
Basil and I could have gone without her, I know, but that felt … wrong somehow.
So today I flashback to last year’s concert, back when we were flush with the promise of a new chapter and diving headlong into a yearlong series of “lasts” and “firsts.” Hope it helps you start your day on a high note.
How lovely! She’s very talented and I hope she’s keeping up with her singing at uni. All the best, Bonny
Thank you!
