It was too hot even for the beach to be jammed. And yes, this is the boardwalk where the movie “Big” was filmed. Inside the park now is a Zoltar the Fortune Teller machine.

Playland Lake where many years ago we rented a paddle boat. On Sunday we simply sat in the shade and enjoyed the view.

The iconic Dragon coaster — built in 1929, it’s one of only 100 wooden roller coasters left in the U.S.

It only took us about 20 minutes to get this selfie in one of the original Dragon coaster cars — and just as long to get in and out of the darn thing. It’s a tight squeeze!

Wonderful shots!

Posted by Terri S. Vanech | September 10, 2014, 7:23 amWhat a great day out. It feels like it was a bit of a trip down memory lane for the two of you as well. I often enjoy these places much more when there’s no one else around. All the best, Bonny
Posted by Bonny Bonafilla | September 10, 2014, 1:51 amIt would be fun to wander there alone. Unfortunately, after the season, they lock the gates. And yes, great trip down memory lane. We both went to Playland often as kids.

Posted by Terri S. Vanech | September 9, 2014, 9:02 pmWow, cool. Looks like a very cool place to get out and enjoy a day.
Posted by Patrick Weseman | September 9, 2014, 1:32 pmAwww looks so much fun! I have to admit that we are going to have a hard time to squeeze in there too as me and hubby gained a lot of weight since we got married =P #ww
Posted by Merlinda Little (@pixiedusk) | September 9, 2014, 9:27 amGlad to see you DO get out without the kid to do fun things. (Especially things she would like to do!)
Posted by Jan Kisluk | September 3, 2014, 4:31 pmAs long as we can get dinner early and be asleep in the couch by 9 we’re party animals!
Posted by Terri S. Vanech | September 3, 2014, 8:21 pmOh cute. Glad you two are enjoying your time together with Catherine away now. It kind of reminds me of one of those Cialis commercials.
Posted by John Pontillo | September 3, 2014, 8:18 amOh wait..Am I NOT supposed to comment because its Wordless Wednesday?!? Hello? Are you there? Are you two strolling on the beach holding hands… perhaps skinny dipping in the fountain? I don’t know what Wordless Wednesday rules are. I do see words under the photos..
Posted by John Pontillo | September 3, 2014, 3:55 pmYou are too funny! I was working, silly!
