(Almost) Wordless Wednesday — Day after day

Mother Nature’s cruel streak continues in this, the winter that will never end.

Oh, here in the Northeast we had a couple of beautiful, warm days that had the neighborhood kids gamboling in their yards, riding their bikes, testing the fit of last year’s shorts.

It looked like this when I finally shut the laptop Monday and went for a walk:

These buds are for you.

These buds are for you.

This morning, though, the yard is again painted frosty white, the silence punctuated by the angry stabs of ice scrapers on the windows of idling cars bound for the train.

So much for wishful thinking.

So much for wishful thinking.

  1. Oh no… That is sure not my idea of fun. Hopefully it will not last and Summer will be here for good.
    Take Care and Keep warm.

  2. The white flowers are lovely, but there is something sort of mysterious about the snow covered benches.
