A whole different ball game

Church league volleyball game today, but like so much of life, it didn’t turn out as planned. The Archangels girls got to Bridgeport on time, warmed up with their Holy Trinity counterparts and waited.

And waited. And then waited some more.

The ref didn’t show.

Rather than squander the opportunity, though, both sides agreed to scrimmage. It wound up being a good game, and the kids had a lot of fun, as this photo of Catherine and her teammates attests.

It's a good game if you can keep laughing!

We won all three matches to hearty applause.

I would have been screaming with joy from head to toe, but there was the small matter of my numb fanny after all that time sitting in the stands.

Game over.

Game over.

  1. At least they made the most of it and still had the scrimmage! I can only imagine your numb butt after sitting so long, I’m surprised your back didn’t hurt as well!

  2. I bet it was more fun without the ref. Catherine looks like she had a lot of fun. I think your camera needs a progressive lens though… Just sayin’
