Oh, it’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of year, but this Christmas season is getting away from me. Big time.
I’m clinging to the simple things wherever I can find them.
Last night, I was treated to this wonderful rendition of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus by the combined choruses at Catherine’s high school (can you believe how many kids there are?!). As always, a bunch of alums joined the group.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and hit play. Catherine’s in here somewhere behind the red-headed violinist in front.
(It was my first video on the new iPhone, so apologies for the video quality. And excuse the updo in front of me. I dodged that pouf and its many spangly accents all evening. There was no getting away from it.)

The boys and I will be boarding a plane soon in search of holidays with loved ones and snow– oh my goodness we may just freeze our little island toes off, but I wanted to stop by here first, to:
Thank you for being a sweet part of last week’s An Aloha Affair.
And, to personally invite you to join us again today.
Cheers,
Nicole

Posted by Terri S. Vanech | December 7, 2012, 6:59 amFabulous! One thing GHS has had is good choruses. When I was there, the group in All-State Chorus was bigger than some high school’s choruses. And the orchestra was good — the band not so much (we used to cringe when they came on the field at football games; they couldn’t play and walk at the same time.). They sound great here. And I love the idea that alums can perform. If you don’t mind, I’ll send the link to a friend who used to sing in the chorus, then went on to sing professionally and now teaches music.

Posted by Terri S. Vanech | December 7, 2012, 6:58 amNicely done and Bravo to Catherine! (I could see her behind the red-headed violinist – when beautiful hair lady moved – and she looked lovely.) I love the idea of alums joining! Thanks for sharing! Reia from http://www.southcountrysides.blogspot.com
