Funny how quickly new routines can be broken, how we return, boomerang-like to our narrow comfort zones.
We hunkered down in front of the television last night — still enthralled by our ability to see something more than black space. I looked around for something good to watch, then picked a program.
Basil sat down next to me, picked up the remote and without a word, changed the channel.
And then changed it again, every time an ad appeared.
Sigh.

I’ve been known to change a channel or two. Until we got second TV….now I just go to the family room and everyone’s happy.

Posted by maryanne | November 5, 2012, 7:22 amYup! I remain resigned. Thank goodness we have more than one TV. (Although I think next time he’s engrossed in some ridiculous B movie, I’m going to sit down next to him and change the channel — just for kicks!)
Posted by Terri S. Vanech | November 5, 2012, 7:27 amIt’s a male thing. And if I protest, he says “you were watching that?” in a tone of absolute incredulity! I finally gave up on TV completely.
