Wife, mother, communications specialist, Jazzercise instructor and recently reunited adoptee. I'm living out loud -- and trying to make it all work -- in midlife. Having a sense of humor sure helps.
Was there MANY years ago! Thanks for the reminder of what was a great trip with my mom and her friends! Blessings to you from Teresa at http://nanahood.com/our-sons-wedding
I haven’t been there in several years so thank you for the return visit. Great shots. 🙂 I did chuckle at selfie nation because it is interesting to watch everyone try to snap that perfect photo of themselves with something in the background. 🙂
I think the picture is a little sad, actually. Beautiful day, amazing statue and everyone is looking at their little screens! It was like that all day — great reminder to put the phone down and enjoy the moment.
We went there in 2007. Pretty amazing stuff. At the time, they allowed us a 20-minute fast search for an ancestor. We discovered that some of ours actually arrived via Castle Garden, a smaller immigration station by Battery Park. My mom’s grandfather came here when he was about 5. He’d told her it was Ellis Is because he remembered seeing the Statue. He probably did see the Statue but was too little to understand there were 2 ports of entry very close together.
gorgeous. i love it there
